Vava’s Prayer

July 17, 2014

Eva and Monty are like my second parents. Their family is our family. We celebrate holidays together and birthdays. We pray for one another and support each other. Eva and Monty are grandparents to baby Nora, and everybody knows grandparents have special names. We came up with the name “Va Va” for Eva. Nora’s Va Va has been praying for her and for our family nonstop since we left the hospital. She has shared truly beautiful prayers with me over the last few weeks. If you find baby Nora or our family on your heart and mind, but you aren’t sure of the words to use, I hope you can find inspiration in the heart of Va Va’s prayer.

“Give us today our daily bread.” Dear Lord, to think about Nora’s future is scary, too many unknowns, but we know you can affect the future and that our prayers influence you. You heard Moses cry for his people and Abraham’s pleas as well so we will cry out in behalf of Nora today. We will pray for her to hit each stage of development exactly as she should. We will pray for her new course of drugs to do exactly what the doctors want them to do with minimal side effects. Today we pray give us our daily bread. Exactly what she needs. I also pray this for Jesse and Tyler. Bless them with exactly what they need to sustain them. In the name of Jesus. Amen.”
