I Think We Could All Use Some “UP”- Lifting Thoughts

Hello Friends,

Many of you are familiar with Grace and Nora’s dance duet – “Be Still” from 2017.  Nora and Grace continue to dance together, once a week, in an inclusive dance class (taught by Grace’s Mom, Becky Dean) at Amazing Grace School of Performing Arts. Since the release of “Be Still,” Grace and Nora have been featured on NBC- San Diego, and continue to perform in concerts together, and with Nora’s class, at Amazing Grace School of Performing Arts.

Below, are videos and photographs of Grace and Nora’s most recent performances: Nora’s dance class performing “UP,” at the Spring 2019 Amazing Grace dance concert, (make sure to watch Nora’s toes carefully, you will see her ballerina toe point, or “tendu”.) The second video, “When I’m With You,” is from the Amazing Grace Fall 2019 fundraiser concert (watch Nora place her hand in Grace’s hand — it’s so fun to see her doing choreography!)

Both pieces were choreographed by my dear friend, Becky Dean, a woman who continues to inspire me, (and the rest of the world) with her creativity, leadership and dedication to eliminating barriers to dance for all children and families. Becky and I want to share these pieces with you, now and today, to spread a little cheer and uplifting whimsy.
