Modern Motherhood

I’m Glad You are Here!

November 8, 2017

Over the last few months, I have been working to simplify the pieces of our published story and to create a foundation for our continuing story. The website you see today is the organized effort of time, energy and research. It is the product of a messy house, an overdrawn coffee budget, childcare support from my in-laws, parents and Nora’s nurse. It is the product of many months of late nights and lengthy conversations with my husband, family, mentors and friends regarding the direction and purpose of this site.

It is my first strategic step toward fostering a space that offers encouragement, perspective, inspiration and resources for families who may find themselves on a unexpected journey. I write with you in mind. You — who finds yourself on a unexpected path, facing unknown challenges. I am here to remind you, that even in the fog there is the possibility of days well lived, and the possibility of your own happily-ever-after right here. Right now.

Today I invite you to grab your favorite beverage, find yourself a quiet happy place and visit. As you look around, you will notice the web address has been simplified to noraeverafter.com this makes it easy to find us across all of our favorite storytelling platforms (Instagram, facebook, twitter). You will notice previously published posts have been organized into new categories, as the foundation for upcoming topics. You will also see many of my favorite family photos integrated into previously published posts (thank you Jessica Rice Photography !)

Over the next few weeks you can expect to see new and exciting projects in this space. I have been working in collaboration with some brilliant and talented storytellers who are able to use their gifts in photography, choreography and videography to capture beautiful themes and pieces of our story in ways words simply cannot.

We can’t wait to share a beautiful video created by Mitchell Dong (a talented videographer ,although he does so much more!) of a dance duet performed by Nora and her friend Grace. The duet choreographed by Becky Dean, director of Amazing Grace School of Performing Arts, is a beautiful look into Grace and Nora’s world. Becky does an amazing job utilizing Nora’s adaptive equipment as a platform for expression, reminding us all, that differences and challenges are a foundation for beauty and creativity. Jessica Rice uses her talents to capture many beautiful moments from the duet. Look out for #GraceandNorasworld coming soon.

I can’t wait to share more with you. If you haven’t already, take a moment to subscribe to the blog in order to receive updates on this special project. We have so much more to come. Thank you for stopping in, I am so glad you are here!

    Dear Jesse and Tyler,
I am so excited about this new endeavor of yours, Jesse, and I cannot wait to see Nora and her friend, Grace, do their dance. You are so talented Jesse, and knowing Tyler and all of his creative workings, I am sure Nora has inherited some of your talents. May God continue to keep watch over you, and bless and protect you and your two beautiful children.
    With a lot of love,

    P.S.
I just read and viewed the beautiful pictures and your “About Me” writings. I failed to mention that Nora is in my every night prayers, and I am so thrilled to be able to look into Nora’s and Grace’s world when the video is released. God has some wonderful plans for the 4 of you, and you are truly blessed. God is good always; always God is good. He is there for you and others in similar situations, but I know you are aware of that. I am so happy to see Nora has a lab, and I LOVE the picture of the 4 of you at the beach. What a beautiful family.
God bless you everyday and all through the night…… you will always live happily ever after. I believe!!
